A Word From the Listener
Meet Steven
Hi all, I'm back and taking calls again for 2026.
A vending machine for venting.
There are things we don’t tell our family, closest friend, or spouse. I am honored to have been entrusted as the ongoing keeper of hundreds of life secrets at the moment. I have been here for many young and elderly; for frustrations ranging from divorce, family issues, infidelity, insecurity, obsessions. I have had personal experience with many.
Some things may be easier to confess when your face is hidden.
That’s why I created EmpathyOnCall for pure release instead of advice, diagnosis or treatment. Sometimes you need to borrow a calm listener for a while. Think of it as a quiet room to exhale where you can speak openly, cry, vent, or sit in silence. I have never, and will never judge anyone opening up. Promise.
Bring your heaviest secrets.
I am Steven, and I'm here to listen to your story.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why not just go to therapy?
You can use this service on top of your therapy sessions. Therapy has its place, but it's clinical. You're often given advice, accountability, and sometimes even medication. Therapists may also take notes and diagnose you, or even refer you to external services.
Empathy On Call is different. This is just a place for venting.
This is not a mental health service, and it is not therapy. There are no diagnoses or follow-ups. Just a place to release your feelings no matter how messy, complicated or raw they are.
What kind of things can I talk about?
Anything you wish to. Venting about your partner, work stress, politics, in-laws, insecurities, family matters, regrets, guilt, rage, loneliness, burnout, trauma, future uncertainty, unusual obsessions, the things you'd never say out loud.
Like a confession booth with no rules.
Who will I be talking to?
You'll be speaking with Steven. The sole proprietor of EmpathyOnCall. To date, Steven has been trusted with hundreds personal stories worldwide. The experience assures that the subjects you open up about may not be as embarassing as they may seem at first.
Steven is not a therapist or a doctor. You and him will only know each other through your voices. This anonimity creates a safe space for opening up.
I want to try it. How do I get started?

Choose a time that works for you. Your session will be held via Zoom or phone call, whichever you prefer.
NOTE: Please make sure to change the time zone to your time zone. Sometimes, the time zone may be in a different zone.
Is this private?
The goal of this service is to maximize anonimity so you can open up easily, as compared to talking to a friend or a face-to-face listener. You can use a fake name if you'd like. Only share what you want to. There is no storing of your information in a database, and you can keep your face hidden. You may only share what you are confortable with.
Can I show my face?
It's up to you, most people don't. You are encouraged to treat it like a call with a friend, voice-only is totally fine.
I you want to turn on your camera, that is fine too, but it's always your choice. Turning it off may reduce your anxiety.
Is it free?
One session, the first session is always 100% free with a 40-minute limit.
No account signups or payments needed. If you can fit everything in 40 minutes, it's your chance to dump everything in one setting.
If you feel great after the free session, you don't have to come back. You can come back for more as life goes on.
What if I cry, show anger, or say something wrong?
This only means you're letting it out comfortably. You're allowed to feel whatever you need to feel, yell, cry, curse or sit in silence.
This service is geographically based in a location where you can speak freely and honestly. Because it is not face-to-face and faces are hidden, you will not be judged, no matter what you say, and any strong feelings you express will not affect the listener in front.
Your emotions are safe.
Is this a mental health service?
This service offers judgement-free listening, supportive conversation, and non-clinical listening for adults.
It is not therapy, counseling, medical care, or crisis intervention. If you are seeking clinical mental health treatment or immediate emergency assistance, please contact licensed professionals or local emergency services.
