About Your Listener

Meet Steven

I understand this feels illegal.

Some call it emotional prostitution. There are things we don’t tell our family, closest friend, or spouse. I am honored to have been the trusted listener, the silent keeper of over 400 ongoing life secrets around this world. From suicide, divorce, infidelity, insecurity, PTSD, bizarre addictions, I’ve heard it all. Many of which I survived at a personal level.

People with trauma have a way of finding each other. We don’t like therapists because some of them studied our problems through textbooks, not experience.

That’s why I created EmpathyOnCall. As if a rage room and a confession booth had a child. This is a raw, anonymous, and unfiltered space where you can confess or break down as you want. You’re not looking for advice; you’re looking for release. No matter what you did or went through, I will be here to answer the phone.

It's okay. I am Steven, and I'm here to hear your story.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why not just go to therapy?

You can use this service on top of your therapy sessions. Therapy has its place, but it's clinical. You're often given advice, accountability, and sometimes even medication. Therapists may also take notes and diagnose you, or even refer you to external services.

Empathy On Call is different. You are treated like a friend and not like a patient.

There are no diagnoses, pressure or judgment. Just a place to let it all out no matter how messy, complicated or raw it feels.

What kind of things can I talk about?

Anything and everything. Venting about your partner, weird obsessions, work, politics, in-laws, insecurities, family secrets, regrets, guilt, rage, loneliness, burnout, trauma, future aspirations, the stuff you'd never say out loud, this is your space.

Like a confession booth with no rules.

Who will I be talking to?

You'll be speaking with the sole proprietor of EmpathyOnCall, Steven. To date, Steven has been trusted with over 400+ emotional emergencies worldwide. The experience means that the things you share are not going to be as emnbarassing as you think they are.

Steven isn't a therapist or a doctor, he's a trauma survivor with his own story. Often described to have a calm presence that makes it safe to discuss what you've been holding in.

Yes. 100%. You can use a fake name if you'd like. No records are kept and no information is stored. Only share what you want to.

This is a confidential service, geographically based in a location that legally protects your right to speak freely. It does not matter how heavy or personal the topic is.

Can I show my face?

It's up to you, most people don't. We actually encourage you to treat it like a call with a friend, voice-only is totally fine.

Want to turn on your camera? That is fine too, but it's always your choice. Sometimes turning it off makes you less self-conscious.

Is it really free?

Yes! your first session is always 100% free with a 40-minute limit.

No credit card or commitment. If you can fit everything in 40 minutes, it's your chance to feel lighter, calmer, and more heard.

If you feel great after the free session, you don't have to come back. You can come back for more as life goes on.

What if I cry, get angry, or say something "bad"?

Good! That means you're letting it out. You're allowed to feel whatever you need to feel, yell, cry, curse or confess.

This service is geographically based in a location where you can speak freely and honestly without fear of consequences. You will not be judged, no matter what you say.

Your emotions are safe here.
